ART TRAIL #01 – Travel & Workshop
For those who love art in the city of Da Lat, Ana Mandara Villas Dalat is delighted to introduce the captivating and unmissable event, Art Trail #01 – Travel & Workshop. Organized by the Lân Tinh Foundation in collaboration with Annam Gallery and Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa, it promises to provide the public with a creative art experience.
Art Trail #01 – Travel & Workshop is a journey by three young artists back to the nostalgic French colonial architecture of Da Lat, a place once designated as a retreat for French officials and soldiers during the French colonial period. This highland region with its cool climate caught the attention of Dr. Alexandre Yersin, giving birth to the city of Da Lat on the Lâm Viên plateau in the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
With various exciting activities under the guidance of these talented artists, each artist will offer viewers vastly different visual experiences. Pham Cong Xeen looks through the lens of abstraction and aims for an emotional connection with subjects. As for Phan Thi Thanh Nha, starting as a botanist with boundless passion for plants and collaborating with other botanists to illustrate plants with the precision of anatomy, she brings a scientific researcher’s perspective. Nguyen Ha My shares that from the early years of studying art, she was always drawn to botanical illustration books. Botanical art drawings have provided a strong source of inspiration for her to pursue and develop her path in artistic creativity.
The theme of this creative camp is about nature, the landscapes of Da Lat’s mountains and forests, the grounds of Ana Mandara, and especially the native flora. Regarded as an ancient French cultural heritage village, nestled amidst the myriad of flowers in the heart of Da Lat city, Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa carries the distinctive beauty of exquisite, romantic, and emotional French countryside architecture from the early 20th century. Hidden among lush pine forests and just a 10-minute drive from the city center, the resort comprises 17 elegant and inspirational villas interspersed between lush, picturesque, tranquil grassy hills, far from the hustle and bustle of urban life. In the grounds of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat, each artist will have one week to find inspiration and sketch out their initial creative ideas.
The public is free to explore the creative camp space during the 2 open studio days (September 23 & 24). In particular, the audience has the opportunity to chat with the artists when registering for an art tour during the following time slots on September 23 and 24:
