“Dear Season Breeze” Exhibition: A Visual Symphony with Nature
Amidst the harmonious compositions of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat, artist Duy Hoa found consonance, peace, and diversity, to unfold the multi-faceted nature and life through the exhibition called “Dear Season Breeze”.
“Dear Season Breeze” is Duy Hoa’s first exhibition in Da Lat, as a continuance of the artist’s first exhibition, Sunken Suns, after 10 years of holding a brush. Besides the familiar en plein air paintings at Dan Phuong – the artist’s hometown, this exhibition introduces a series of flower still-lifes as the artist’s message to the people of the City of Flowers this breezy season. Still the same chrysanthemums, coins, fading lotus…lucid, intimate, but imbued with emotions and thoughts. And it still is a signature visual interpretation in a semi-realistic – semi-abstract realm, less picturesque but vividly descriptive.
Crossed over to the realm of semi-abstract style, Duy Hoa tells about the rustic everyday life in Dan Phuong – a suburban district northwest of central Hanoi, humble in size but abundant in life – through the story he portrays in each artwork.
Curated by Ace Le – an independent researcher, art curator, and Founder of the Lan Tinh Foundation, “Dear Season Breeze” is an invitation to immerse ourselves in the worldview of Duy Hoa, where his canvas is a personal diary to unlock the relationship between his outer and inner worlds.
Visiting the exhibition, we, the aesthete, can touch the minutiae that Duy Hoa sends through each brush stroke. It is the sound of the wind, the scent of the countryside, the endless white nights, and the artist’s pondering with his hometown, with people, and with life.
“Dear Season Breeze” Exhibition takes place at Le Lycée Artspace – a gallery that exhibits and stores all treasured artworks of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat – from November 5, 2022 to January 5, 2023.
