Art Exhibition by Artist Le Anh Quan And “Ballet Girls” At Timeless French-Inspired Villas of Dalat

Dalat City, February 26th 2022 – On February 27th, 2022, a contemporary art exhibition named “Ballet Girls” with 17 unique works by one of distinguished Vietnamese contemporary artists – Mr. Le Anh Quan will be introduced to the public and displayed at the elegant Le Lycée Ballroom of Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa.

For art appreciators and critics, it is such a rare occurrence to peruse Le Anh Quan’s works in person. One of his most recent exhibitions was taken place in November last year at Viet Art Space. Only when he finds harmony and intimate connection with a space is he ready to share his works. For this exhibition, Le Anh Quan chose Da Lat – where provides the classical charm of French Indochina and the bygone of the romance era, a “catalyst” connecting unimaginable objects into his paintings and into his collection.

“Ballet Girls” consists of 17 works of art with a variety of materials from mirrors, glass, wood and synthetic materials with elaborate decoration. Perhaps, the concept of “painting” in his own explanation will be an unprecedented experience for those who are accustomed to traditional painting exhibitions. Painting but not a game of colors, Artist Le Anh Quan’s works have been known as a “visual phenomenon” by employing exceptional and distinct materials. These new materials play as the “main characters” in this exhibition.

Le Anh Quan shared, “Ballet girls” was inspired by his tremendous love towards his daughter Ha Lam during the time he was an art teacher for students. Originally, both he and his daughter love ballet. And when he had the opportunity to go to France, he managed to buy a violin and a pair of ballet shoes to present to his children.

Thanks to that sheer inspiration, each work at the exhibition, from “Dancing Baby”, “Rain – 2021”, “Sun” to “Body 1”, “Body 2”, “Body” make all of viewers admire and fall in love.

Different from children’s images represented in his previous work before, from the children’s heads haunted by polluted smoke, or the smoke of war, to the series of paintings named children with braids which is now rarely found on the streets of Hanoi, “Ballet Girls” illustrates a high-faluting, romantic and delicate yet full of contemplation sense.
Unlike previous exhibitions, what makes “Ballet Girls” exhibition even more distinctive is that it is displayed at Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa – where timeless elegance is imbued with French architecture. The resort is full of sophistication, romance, and touches of time gone. Artist Le Anh Quan said: “I believe it is the artistic flair of this place that will help the audience enjoy “Ballet Girls” in a slow, simple yet sophisticated style. I trust this will be an ideal place for many other artists to come and be inspired for new art works…”

The exhibition will last for 30 days, from February 27 to March 30, 2022, at Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa.

Artist Le Anh Quan was born in 1977 in Hanoi. He graduated from Hanoi University of Fine Arts and is one of the few young painters who was soon known for his own creativity and artistic exploration.
