Finding Yourself in Dalat with A Spiritual Journey

Dalat has long been famous for the city’s beautiful and soul-stirring landscape, but do you know that it is also a place dedicated to spiritual journeys? Let us embark on the quest for relaxation and self-discovery by visiting some of Dalat’s most transformative and peaceful sacred places with Ana Mandara!

Linh Phuoc Pagoda

As one among the most famous pagodas in Dalat, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is renowned to hold the largest number of records to date, thanks to its unique construction that is made of numerous structures and fine carvings of porcelains. Not only a spiritual center, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is also the pride of Dalat, where tourists from all over the country flock over for their meditation retreats everyday.

When visiting Linh Phuoc Pagoda, you will get to admire Dai Hong Chung – the 4.3-meter-high bell that resides in the highest bell tower in Vietnam, the great Bodhisattva statue that is built from 650,000 strawflowers, or the 18-level inferno construction. For many years, the pagoda has been a must-visit spiritual attraction to both domestic and foreign tourists visiting Dalat.

Phuoc Hue Bao Loc Pagoda

Phuoc Hue Bao Loc Pagoda was built in 1936, and was gradually repaired over the time. Tourists visiting the pagoda will get to experience the solemn and sacred atmosphere unique to a Buddhist temple, which is known as the holder of the Buddha’s relics since 2001. For those who prefer a silent and peaceful meditation retreat to find your inner self and to connect with the spiritual side of nature, Phuoc Hue Bao Loc Pagoda is the right choice for you.

Linh An Pagoda

Another ancient pagoda with strong influence from other East Asian constructions, Linh An Pagoda is known for its quiet and peaceful atmosphere despite its location in the city. When visiting Linh An Pagoda, do not forget to visit the famous Bodhisattva statue that is renowned as the highest in Vietnam as well, so that one can marvel at the sight of the Ascended One majestically yet gently looking down from amidst the mountains and the forests.

Truc Lam Zen Monastery

Truc Lam Zen Monastery is located at around 5 kilometers (~3 miles) from the center of the city, and it is also the most famous among the spiritual tourist destinations of Dalat. Residing among the vast pine forest, Truc Lam Zen Monastery is known as a fragment of Nirvana in the mortal realm. It is rumored by many that a simple walk around the monastery is enough for most Buddhists to find their inner peace.

Van Hanh Zen Monastery

Not only is Van Hanh Zen Monastery a sacred sanctuary, but it is also a historical and cultural construction that exemplifies unique Buddhist architecture. The monastery is popular among others because of its carvings that illustrate the life of the Sakyamuni Buddha, and its golden statue depicting the Buddha holding a lotus flower and smiling upon the mortal world.
